Chinese Lip Syncing Girl

Turns out the uber-cute little girl who ‘sang’ for the Olympic opening ceremonies was actually lip-syncing to the recorded voice of another girl.

Apparently the real singer wasn’t cute enough for Communist sensibilities.

First my childhood is crushed with the discovery that Kung-Fu movies are fake…now this. And it’s required some hasty backtracking since I’d told my daughter that “see, she’s the same age as you and there she is singing in front of billions of people.” I knew she wasn’t singing live, but “see she’s the same age as you and some other girl is lip syncing her singing in front of billions” just sounds…sad.

This is just evil.
