I'm still testing out this theme.

Two Faced

I’ve always heard that married couples start looking like each other over time. Looks like it may be true. Clearly I will get the better end of this deal.

Pretty bad report card on Evoting systems

All of them failed pretty miserably. …which is not surprising since the companies have been so evil about preventing any independent security review of the systems. Imagine if antivirus companies weren’t allowed to sell you antivirus software. Would your machine be safer? It’s kind of the same thing with these eVoting systems. The companies are [...]

Programming Rockafire

Here’s a more family friendly angle on the home pizza restaurant robotics hobby. This is quite possibly one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen on the internet. Although he seems oddly defensive about the whole thing…. One Caveat…this fella has the *worst* taste in music. To whom much childhood robotics is given, much more [...]

Them, Robot

I’m not sure if this video contains bad language or not, but it might, so no embedding–and link at your own risk: Reprogramming the Rockafire Explosion to play rap music. Of course, this is not the point. The point is: how can I get my own Rockafire Explosion!?!?!? If you had that, and some microwave [...]

Those porn peddlers in Vegas

Anyone who’s been to Las Vegas knows the fellas (and a couple women) on the street corners handing out little nekkid girl business cards for the local ‘dancers’. Apparently these women will deliver exotic dancing right to your door. That’s convenience! There’s a little code on most cards, so they get a kickback if it’s [...]

Early Epcot Brochure

Man, this really takes me back. I remember visiting EPCOT right about the time it first opened. My mom was freakin’ out about it and bought all the books and stuff. Today you can tell DisneyCo Inc. is waiting to amortize it off the books and pave it over for a strip mall and parking [...]

Scanning license plates

Below is a great demonstration about where technology is going. It won’t be long before this tracking will be possible with faces and other identifying information. The problem? This data can be stored. Soon your entire day’s travel will be stored on a hard drive in a municipal building. And with all this Homeland security [...]

Oh the cuteness

Can there be anything cuter than a puppy and kitten playing? I’m not sure my only commentary on the situation would involve cocaine and Satan, though.

What happened to warm fuzzy Russia?

While the terrorism thing takes center stage, the former Soviet Union has been slowly sinking into a less principled version of it’s former self. It took about 16 years for Germany to move from post WWI destruction to WWII capabilities and philosophy. The USSR collapsed in 1991.

Amazing mortgage stories

This subprime lending stuff is really scary. And it’s not just mortgages. There are other kinds of lending out there that are ticking time bombs too. The portfolios are being tossed around like a hot potato, and the lenders are playing games to make things look like they aren’t as bad.

Where is my party?

What has my Republican party become? The party of the great communicator is running from youtube debates. Could you imagine Ronald Reagan refusing this? I doubt I’ll ever vote Democrat, but Republicans are looking more and more loseriffic.

More daughter quotes

There are about 100 of these everytime I we go to the store. But these are the ones from today. When passing a church: “Is that place still in business? We should drive by on Sunday to see if they are. There are never any cars there since I was a baby.” When finally selecting [...]

Stopping what is bad vs only allowing what is good

The TSA rules going through the airport line are pretty crazy. They read like newspaper clippings from past scares. “Take all shoes off for screening” “No snow globes” “All belts must go through x-ray” This is classic signature based security. Look for things that have been problematic in the past, and stop those specific things [...]

De Plane, De Plane

…landed. And actually, there’s a line of Kenny Rogers themed slot machines that look like a better investment than the stock market today. Don’t worry kids. Our money ain’t stayin’ in Vegas.

Leavin’ on a jetplane

Alright, posts may be sporadic over the next few days. Unless the plane crashes. Then they’ll be exceptionally sporadic. Wouldn’t that be creepy if this was the last b’journal post? Well, as the old saying goes “I’m prepared to leave, but not ready”. To die is gain. Or to lose all this credit card debt.

Extension of Copyright in the UK

Music Industry folks have been extending copyright on recordings and music to absurd lengths, but it appears the UK has said no. That’s good.

Dog chip conspiracy

So a dog ends up 2000 miles away from home. He is reunited with his owners because he has of those microchips under his skin. The quote: “It just goes to show the value of having your dog micro-chipped,” Uh-huh. Who stood to benefit from this situation? I call conspiracy. Now it’s off to youtube [...]

DRM free music

So it appears that EMI is the only label embracing DRM free, listener friendly music. And the latest manifestation is an Iron Maiden and Burger King alliance. (???) I wonder if the Christian Music Cartels in Nashville will ever do such things?

Vegas baby!

I’ll be in Vegas for undisclosed reasons for the next couple days. I’ve got my prosperity cloth and anointing oil packed. I’ve named it. I’m claiming it. I have an unbeatable system. Let’s just say that when we come back, we’ll have doubled the budget for the next recording project.
